Review Button Added to Facebook Pages
A Review button has been added to certain types of Facebook Pages. Users have long been able to post recommendations on Facebook Pages known as Places Pages. A Places Page is one that includes a physical address and allows check-ins. These can be local businesses, entertainment and sports venues, restaurants, or any business that lists a physical location.
These Pages have had Recommendation boxes for quite some time, but Facebook has changed this option to Review and has added a button to the top of the Page, located between the Like button and the Message button.
When users click the Review button a new window pops up that allows them to write a review and rate the company via a five-star rating system. Once the review is posted, the user will be prompted to review other Place Pages that h/she has already ‘liked’.
The posted review will generate a News Feed story to be seen by the user’s friends and will display in the ticker on the upper right-hand side of the News Feed.
Reviews will be displayed in a box on the Page for Page visitors to see.
When the See All link is clicked, all Page reviews can be viewed in a pop-up window.

Excellent customer service is vital to business success, and in the age of social media this is truer than ever. An infographic from Zendesk illustrates the findings of a recent customer service survey which indicates that more people share bad customer service experiences than good experiences (45% vs 38%). With 58% of respondents revealing they are more likely to share their customer service experiences today than they were five years ago, positive customer service experiences are more important than ever for businesses. Additionally, 88% said that they have been influenced in their buying decisions by online customer service reviews.
With online reviews having this significant an impact on buying decisions, having them displayed on your company’s Facebook Page is a great addition to your Facebook marketing strategy.
