NEW!! Social Media Wrap-up for Brands and Bands!
Every week I scour the web for news and information on social media. Starting today, I’ll be sending out a Social Wrap-up newsletter to my subscribers each Saturday. Since I have some subscribers who are musicians and some who are small business owners, I’ll separate the articles into Social for All that apply to all regardless of what type of brand you have and I’ll also include a section on Social for Musicians.
And away we go…
Social for All
- If you haven’t heard of thinglink.com, you need to check it out! You can upload an image, add interactive links and descriptions. This could be a fantastic new marketing tool – and they just announced Facebook integration this week. Here’s a link to the thinglink that I made just to test it out. Here’s a screen shot of the image I made. The little icons aren’t visible until the person mouses over the image. Click on the image to see it full size.
Also, here’s an article about the thinglink’s Facebook integration: http://mashable.com/2013/04/23/thinglink-facebook/
- Twitter just announced some new tools for small business advertising, including new targeting options and access to their advanced interface. http://advertising.twitter.com/2013/03/More-powerful-tools-for-small-business-and-self-service-advertisers.html

It’s a super cool, slick interface and can help your music get discovered by new fans. Here’s an article about how Twitter #Music can be used by and for marketing. http://evolver.fm/2013/04/22/marketers-are-looking-forward-to-your-twitter-music-account/

- This was new to me! I know about fake Facebook fans and Twitter followers, but didn’t realize the problem also existed on SoundCloud.
